uploading one layer in gdsii

Thursday 29th May 2025 I have a 23 layer design. When I went to make a mask using GDSII, then mask writer crashed. The mask writer will run other designs, just not mine. My designs are pretty intricate, so it was suggested that I just upload one layer at a time. When trying to isolate one layer, i am having problems. I have tried to copy paste, but it does the whole design, maybe because I have the cheaper version, I cannot delete layers in layer manager. I have tried several different work arounds, but I can't seem to get anything to work. So, before putting too much more time and energy into it, I thought I would ask the Forum. Thanks in advance!!

Thursday 29th May 2025 Please activate the option *only save enabled layers'* under setup/file_format/GDSII and disable all except one layer in the setup. With the next save/save_as you will only have one layer in the GDSII. This method will work in the reduced version of the LayoutEditor. Other options like *extract layer* or *delect_layer* would require the full version of the LayoutEditor.
