Question getting X-FAB libraries to work with OpenAccess

Hello, I am trying to evaluate Layout Editor for using with the X-FAB libraries. I am getting an error when I place a component from PRIMLIB in the schematic "no layout data or parametic cell can not be created (nei~e776410c03dcc22e4348a59938141d26)" "require OpenAccess-parametric-cell-plugin 'PyCell - cnDloPcell' may not be available, please install it. (PyCell - cnDloPcell)" I am using: Ubuntu 18.04 LayoutEditor layout_20221126_Ubuntu_18.04_amd64.deb PyCell Studio L-2022.06-SP2-1 Latest XFAB PDK I use the default install directory in the PyCell install. However Layout Editor will not find OpenAcess unless I enable the manual installation path of /opt/synopsys/linux64. When Layout editor starts, it says that it is using linux_rhel60 for the sysname. I feel like this might be my issue, but I can not figure out how to resolve it. In order to get Layout Editor to see the X-FAB libraries, I use the ProjectSettings.tcl in the ckit directory after installing the PDK. However, I also had to copy over the autoLoadMacro.layout from the Layout Editor Macros. The schematic works, I see the XFAB PRIMLIB components and the callbacks work when editing properties. However, when I place a component in schematic no layout shows up and the error is present. Thank you so much for your assistance!

Thanks for pointing to this issue. Synopsys has changed the file path structure with the mentioned package. The LayoutEditor need to be updated to handle the new folder structure. It will be available shortly and I will let you know in this thread once it is available. However, even with corrected file paths the mentioned PyCell version will not run with the X-Fab PDK we have. We will check that with X-Fab. I recommend to switch to an older PyCell version. It is known that "*PyCell Studio L-2020.12-SP1-1 Py262*" will run correctly. To load the layer setup automatic without an autostart macro, please active the setup option "*load layer setting in working folder*" under setup/user_interface/layer.

The mentioned PyCell version will work with the LayoutEditor and X-Fab PDK with LayoutEditor release 20230208 or newer. The release 20230208 will be available tomorrow morning under this link: [https://layouteditor.com/download?release=latest](https://layouteditor.com/download?release=latest) Please note that the linked LayoutEditor package is a development version and the adjustment still needs to be validated on different systems.

Thank you! I was able to get "PyCell Studio L-2020.12-SP1-1 Py262" working correctly as you suggested.

Does the X-FAB iPDK provide DRC information to LayoutEditor?
