Start up problem with error message: "Proxy query URL too long for windows API, try with truncated URL"

Hello,
When i want to start LayoutEditor it takes like 10 to 15 mins to start up and the PC freezes several times. After like 5 mins the following message appears in the console window: "Proxy query URL too long for windows API, try with truncated URL". At the same time we have problems with the litho software (upg 101 Exposure Wizard) to recognize layouts which we made on a different PC (Which was working without any problems before). I am not sure if both problems are related to each other or not.
Many thanks in advance

I guess that are two different problems. Releated to the startup problem, can you give me some more details: You just click on the program icon and it freezes? Correct? There are not other tasks running on the system? Is the system connected to the internet? What Windows version and LayoutEditor version is in use? Is a LayoutEditor license key installed?
To the file recognition issue: What is the exact error message? Are the designs stored as GDS? There could be some extension used in the GDS that are not supported by the reading tool. In that case these extension need just to be disabled in the setup. Or a .GDS file name could be used for a different format. Are you able to share one of these files? If so please send it to support@layouteditor.com . I am happy to review the file.

I closed all other programs on the PC and then clicked on the icon. This time it was faster than before because last time other programs were running. After like 30 s the console window opens. After 20 more seconds the PC starts to freeze occasionally. After 40 more seconds (after the first freeze) the error message from above appears and it takes another 1 min 10 s from there until the LayoutEditor symbol appears on the screen. After that the it takes another 55 s until the normal program interface is accessible. So in total like 5 mins but still way slower than a normal startup. After startup, one can use the program like normal.
The same behavior can be seen for Release 20220423 and Release 20190820. We don't have the license key installed. The Pc is Windows 10 Pro, Intel i3-7100 CPU @3.90 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 64bit system and the PC is not connected to the internet since the system is in use.
I send two files, one which is working and one which is not working, to the email you mentioned. Both files are .GDS. The problem is that the system can load the file but in the preview screen there are no structures visible that results in no illumination if one proceeds with the normal work flow afterwards. If the working file is loaded the structures can be seen in the preview and the system can illuminate the structures.

In the mentioned combination (Windows system, no license key and most important no Internet) and a regular use over a longer period I found an issue that could cause such an issue. The regular updates checks which happened every two weeks can accumulate and slow down the application on startup. We will further investigate it and fix it with the next update.
As a work-around, please open the Microsoft regedit.exe tool and remove all entries for the LayoutEditor under HKey/current_user/software/juspertor/LayoutEditor and HKey/local_machine/software/juspertor/LayoutEditor. Afterwards it should runs fine until it accumulate again,
The file you send me by email just runs fine on my system. I guess you have set an layer mapping to layers that are currently disabled. Please check your setting under setup/file_format/gds/layer_mapping.

I made it like you suggested by deleting the registry and the program is running smoothly now!
I also enabled "map layer on open/save" and "auto map layer/datatype" in the settings of the version on the PC under the path you mentioned. The lithography software can load the files including preview and working illumination.
Many thanks for your help! I appreciate it.
