Is the Mac version of LayoutEditor native for Apple's M-series processors? If not, are there any plans for it to be eventually?

The current Mac package of the LayoutEditor is for Intel processors and tested on M-series processors without any issues so far. Internal libraries the LayoutEditor uses are not yet all available for native Apple's M-series processors. Once that is the case we will provide a package for it as well.

Great, thanks. Do you have a sense of how the performance is on M-series? (I often do some computationally intensive things with LayoutEditor and am considering a new Mac.) Is it the sort of thing that will get better slowly as the internal packages become native? Thanks for you responses.

The Intel simulator of the M-series processors is very good. I expect only a small difference between the Intel-Simulator mode and the native application. But we will see only the native version is available.

A first development version for MacOS universal build natively supporting arm64 (M-series processors) and x86_64 (Intel-processors) architecture is now available for download: [https://layouteditor.com/download?release=latest](https://layouteditor.com/download?release=latest) It will require MacOS 12.3 or higher. Any feedback on this package is welcome! For Apple systems running MacOS 12.2 or earlier, please use the Intel package.
