I have a hierarchical design with box shapes at various levels. I am trying to save the layout with the 'box elements are saved as polygons' switch on. However although most of the boxes are converted not all of the boxes are converted. Is there a limit on the number of boxes or hierarchy levels?

Hi Robert,
Always all boxes are converted. However this conversion is only effective for the file format you have turned it on. So if you have turn it on for GDS only when saving to GDS the boxes are converted. If you store it to OASIS format, it will still be stored as boxes.

Thank You for your prompt reply. We are completing our designs with the Save as Polygon switch off and then once finished saving with all text and box elements as polygons. However not all boxes are being converted. I know the majority are converted but a quick check shows there are remaining boxes and our maskmaker is finding box structures. This is a concern as some maskmakers do not convert box structures as standard and therefore we risk having missing structures on our masks.

I have tried to reproduce that with several test designs i have, but always any box was converted to a polygon. Can you email me an example showing this effect? ( to support @ layouteditor.com ) . Do you have any other option turned on?
