Hello to everyone,
I have a problem using a free version of the layout Editor, during the design of my mask I received the warning that the file will be saved to .LEC format because I have exceeded the file dimensions. Hence, I have deleted a lot of shapes in order to be able to save the file to .GDSII. Nevertheless, also if i delete all it is impossible save the file to another format that isn't .LEC. I have done a lot of work on that file, and I can accept to lose some shape because of the free version but i cannot understand because i have to loose all the work and i cannot simple delete some shapes and then save into .GDSII.
How I can solve this issue?

Please use the *Format Conversion Service* within this website. This service it *free* and without any costs, if you are inside the size limitation of the free version. In case you are slightly above the limit, it will only cost very low amount.
To convert a .LEC to GDS on your desktop you will need the full version of the LayoutEditor.

Does anyone know the file size before a cost to convert ot GDSII?

That does not depend on the file size, but on the shapes within the design. Up to 500 shapes a conversion is free. A polygon with some thousand vertexes is just a single shape as well as an array with thousand of references. The full conversion fee will applier on designs with more than 100000 shapes.

The Format Conversion service is still available. It is named "Cloud Export". Here you can choose the file format to export.

Can you tell me where to find "cloud export"? I have a design in the .lec file format that I saved to my google drive and am trying to open it on another computer that has Layout Editor (full paid version) but it will not open the .lec file. I understand I need to export it and can only do that if it is below a certain size. Can you tell me what that size limit is now?
