I am using 20160425 release of the LayoutEditor on a Ubuntu 16.4 system and after starting the LayoutEditor the splash logo shows up and nothing else happened. How to start the LayoutEditor?

There is a bug until release 20161124 of the LayoutEditor when using Cinnamon and some other desktops. The layout window is created but stayed invisible on the desktop. You ether need to switch to KDE or Gnome; or you need to upgrade to release 20161124 and start the LayoutEditor with the parameter '--secure'. The '--secure' parameter enables an extra check to make the layout window visible, but needs about 3s extra startup time. It was introduced with release 20161124.
All recent releases of the LayoutEditor no longer need this extra parameter, the desktop will be detected by the start script and all parameter will set automatic.
