run time error 340, "control array '17' doesn't exist"
User Evaluation Monday 2nd June 2025
I have a 23 layer design. When I went to make a mask using GDSII, then mask writer crashed. The mask writer will
run other designs, just not mine. I initially thought that it was perhaps because my designs were so intricate, but this is not the case.
When I first tried to upload my designs, the Heidelberg crashed and said kit was " runtime error 15" After trying different methods of
uploading my files, and trying to upload simple files, as well as creating a very simple design and trying to upload it, i keep getting
the same thing. I then made a design using Klayout on my same pc, saving it to the same thumb drive, and it uploaded no problem.
So, I must have some box checked or unchecked in my Layout editor program that is causing this issue. Even taking my file, opening
it in Klayout, then saving it there would not fix the issue. I looked into some of the "fixes" to both of the runtime errors that I received,
and they do not seem to be the issue here. I have saved everything in GDSii file format, and I have already spent a good deal of time attempting to resolve these issues. I have tried saving different instances, trying to upload some of my smaller devices,
and quite a few other things in an attempt to figure out the issue. Thank you in advance! Have a great day. If needed, I could upload one of my files to examine if that would help. Thanks .

Do you get any warnings or information when opening the file with the LayoutEditor? Under setup/misc you need to ensure that warning and informations are displayed. I guess your file uses some GDS options that are not supported by the Heidelberg tool. Some unusual options will be reported when opening the file as information. What are your setting for database units and user units? Uncommon setting here could also sometimes problems with other tools.
About the exact meaning on the error you should better contact the support of Heidelberg as there tool prints the errors.
