Schematics, no "stretch"?

I cannot find a stretch command or any way to modify a wire once drawn. Only "move". In some schematic editors if you drag a symbol the connections will follow and the wire will stay connected at all points. Is there a way to do this in SchematicEditor, or could this be added?

You can select a region of a schematic and move it. All wire to this region will take connected. If you place a symbol on a wire, you need to remove the wire and reconnect it. There is no automatic connection building.

What I want is the ability to stretch a wire segment or vertex (and snap it to target).

You can just add a new wire instead of stretching the existing one. That will have the same result.

It may have the same result in the end, but it is many more, individually error prone steps to make it so. Every vertex and every end point is an opportunity to miss and start over. Moving a device breaks connections which have to be rebuilt instead of being preserved. Have you tried creating schematics of non-trivial size? It's much more difficult in this tool than any of the others I've used professionally (Cadence, Silvaco, LTSpice) or dabbled with (XCircuit, KiCAD). I'll repeat my question from another topic, regarding whether you know of any other schematic entry packages which play well (enough) with layout and LVS tools? Productivity matters.
