since 20012 I have a 'reduced' license of the LayoutEditor. Unfortunately, it does not fully satisfy my needs. For example, it appears to be impossible to associate a 'technology' with each design. Since I deal with different designs for different foundries, using different layer numbers/names, it becomes extremely impractical to change all the layer definitions/appearances every time I switch from one design to another, and then back to the first one... Maybe it's possible to automate this procedure even with the reduced version, but I was not able to find out how. Can you confirm this? Another useful feature could be the possibility of using macros, and I understand that this is possible only with the full version.

since the 2012 release a lot of thing have changed: - there is a feature to store the layer setting with any GDSII design (mainmenu/utilities/setup/fileformat/gds/store_layer_names), - a layer setup macros, that can be created with the LayerManager will work also in the reduced version, just to use macro supported layout creation or DRC, etc you will need the full license key, layers and schematic can be accessed by macro from the reduced version. - several feature have moved to the reduced version from the full version and new features were added to the full version. For example the bundle file format (store/load the layer setup macro and the GDSII in one step) is now part of the reduced version.
