Printing out dimensions in Layout Editor

Hello, I am trying to print out the dimensions of my design in Layout Editor using a normal printer. However, the printed dimensions do not match those of the dimensions in Layout Editor. Is there a way to ensure that the printed dimensions are the same as those in Layout Editor (i.e. 1:1 ratio)? Would appreciate comments on this. Many thanks.

H Ying, if you use the file/print function the scale is chosen in a way that the current visible screen fits quit well to the paper size. The scale will depend on the current zoom level. To get a defined output on the printer you will need to export the design to a file format that the printer can handle. The best choice is usually post script. The post script file format includes exact the physical size and can be printed be most of the modern printers directly. Alternative would be to use a pixel file format. Here the size of a pixel can be set when exporting from the LayoutEditor under setup/file_format/pixel_format/size_per_pixel.

Thanks for the input Jurgen. Another question related to this is- how can I invert the design in LayoutEditor for printing in a modern printer? This is because I need to expose the design using a negative photoresist. Please advise. Many thanks.

You need to invert the layer inside the LayoutEditor. The BoolOnLayer feature within the Boolean Tool is the tool of the choice for it.
